Insurance Fees: Time of Service + .25(TOS)--at this time, the only insurance I bill directly is the Veterans Association.
My study time: I charge a fee for extra time needed to study more complicated cases: if I spend 2 hours or more, I charge $100 for every hour beyond the first hour.
There is no charge for the first hour of my study time. I will only charge if I need more than that amount of time. I do my best to try to get the work done in as little time as possible and without adding additional fees.
Missed appointments:
I request at least 24 hour cancellation notice (except for inclement weather here in WI). I would appreciate payment for that time if you are not able to give sufficient notice.

Description of Visits
The initial visit is scheduled for two hours. The first hour we go through your entire medical history. I ask that you bring in or have sent to my office copies of blood tests done within the last year, as well as any pertinent medical history (scans that were done, medical summaries, if appropriate, surgeries/dates, etc.) and a list of all medications and supplements, with dosages (or just bring them all in).
The second hour is a physical assessment from the Chinese/Japanese medicine perspective and an acupuncture treatment. Sometimes there's a good amount to talk about and we don't get to the acupuncture. Some folks just don't want acupuncture. In those cases, we use the time for evaluation and further understanding of what's going on.

The second visit is 1 & ½ to 2 hours long: ½-1 hour for naturopathic medicine and an hour for an acupuncture treatment. During the second visit, we complete any history or intake that we didn't get to at the first visit and then discuss the treatment recommendations. I often take time between the first and second visit to think about what you have told me and to try to understand who you are, and then present my recommendations at the second visit instead of the first. We often do acupuncture, as well, at the second visit, if desired (most of the time).
Subsequent visits are either 30, 60 or 90 minutes depending on what we are covering. Acupuncture treatments are scheduled for one hour. We can add 30-60 minute naturopathic consults on to those or just do naturopathic consults separately.
I accept cash or checks but do not accept credit cards at this time.
